On Wednesday 26th of February 2020, the RNCI expects to offer around 350 pupils the amazing experience of visiting the Royal Northern Spring Show at Thainstone Mart.

This amazing opportunity is open to all P4 – P7 from schools in the North East (Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray).

Applications are made using the booking form below. A letter of invitation has also been included. Deadline is Friday 17th January 2020. Places are limited and high demand is expected.

If successful, this trip is free of charge for schools with subsidised transport, courtesy of the Royal Northern Agricultural Society and the Scottish Government.

The Spring Show, which is held annually at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, features show classes of farm livestock species and many agricultural and associated trade stands. Outdoors, in the centre car park, is an extensive display of the latest agricultural machinery.  This offers an amazing learning environment for your pupils. The Show is also a major feature in the farming calendar in the North-east.  

 School parties are catered for in several ways:

•        Free entry to the show for the children, their teachers and helpers.

•        A stewarded tour with educational workshops.

•        A specific tour time will be allocated to each school.

•        A dedicated Education & Information Centre with seating area provided for eating packed

  lunches and toilet facilities nearby.

•        An animal viewing area with hand washing facilities.

•        Comprehensive Health & Safety Guidelines and risk assessments issued prior to the show day.

In order to cope with the anticipated demand, places will once will be limited and priority will be given to those schools that have previously been unsuccessful in their applications. Secondary Schools are encouraged to apply but preference will be given to primary students.
