The Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI)

The Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI) was set up in 1997 and is a joint project between:

  • the Royal Northern Agricultural Society (RNAS)
  • the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) and
  • was previously supported by
the Aberdeen Environmental Education Centre (AEEC)

Our aim is:

"To help children and their teachers in the North-East of Scotland develop a greater understanding of farming and the working countryside."

The RNCI covers Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

There is now a network of similar countryside initiatives under the auspices of the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET)
