Farm Visits

Teachers
Where possible we can link your school with a local working farm or estate to give your pupils the opportunity to visit the working countryside.  The RNCI Project Officer can hlep with planning these visits and offer advice and information on risk assessments and health and safety guidelines for farm visits.

Farmers

Your farm is a wonderful outdoor classroom offering a wide variety of possibilities throuhgout the year.   'Curriculum for Excellence' places importance on direct experience  - taking pupils out of the classroom to learn first hand.  Topics such as science, geography, history, maths and even art can be taught from a farm visit.

Projects may look at the seasons, life cycles of plants and animals, food production and technology - schools may be interested in visiting your farm for many reasons.
